The Winterville Fire Department is very proud of its Fire Prevention Program, and encourages you to practice fire safety EVERYDAY! This page is designed to provide the citizens of Winterville and surrounding communities fire prevention tips, programs, and prevention tools we offer. Fire Prevention Programs and Events

Birthday Parties - Winterville Fire Department will attend parties, functions, or give tours of the fire station. If interested in having WFD attend your event, please contact 1 month prior to event. To request WFD visits your child's party or your event, please contact our Fire Prevention officer by clicking here!

School Fire Prevention Visits - Winterville Fire Department tries to visit all schools and daycares in our community. We bring different pieces of apparatus and teach the children fire safety/prevention in fun and exiting ways. We provide free fire safety/prevention literature and coloring books to all children that attend. To request a visit please contact our Fire Prevention officer by clicking here!

 

Door to Door Outreach - Winterville Fire Department, along with "Safe kids" Pitt County, randomly go to homes around our community checking smoke detectors and fire extinguishers, and replaces/installs them for free if deemed necessary.

 

"Change Your Clocks, Change Your Batteries"- Each October, Winterville Fire Department gives out free 9Volt batteries to citizens in our community to replace their batteries in their smoke detectors.
